What a excellent day we had at the National Cat Show 2000. Our beautiful British Shorthair Cream Colourpointed stud boy Grand Champion Dawnica Michael Angelo (40/7) won his Open class, receiving a Challenge Certificate (CC) and was awarded Best of Breed over all the Colourpoints.
He then shocked us both first by being nominated and winning Best in Show British Shorthair Adult, then against the winners of the Best in Show Kitten and Neuter British Shorthair was selected as Best of Variety British Shorthair. Winning this stage meant he was Overall Best British Shorthair against all other British Shorthairs there that day totalling 115 British Shorthairs.
He then went onto the stage to be judge for the National Cat of the Year.
The judging was done by one of the countries top judges, she went up and down the seven varieties of cats on show, Best in Show Longhair, Semi-Longhair, British Shorthair, Foreign, Burmese, Oriental and Siamese. It was a hard choice to make they were all lovely cats.
Grand Champion Dawnica Michael Angelo (40/7) was selected for the final three exhibits by the judge and our hearts were pounding, is this going to be our 15 minutes of fame! But alas no just as we thought the judge was going to select our cat she decided on the Semi-Longhair a Maine Coon.
Looking back on the day it was the most exciting day we have ever had showing cats which we think will be hard to beat.
Sadly Angelo has departed us now for pastures new. God bless Angelo, we miss you. |
